Sighting of the SUN in April...

The sun came out in Seattle, so we hit the beach. Richmond Beach is close to our house, has the feel of Golden Gardens, but without the mobs or the beach-that-is-actually-a-giant-ashtray feel.

Here, you can see Fiona fascinated by the concept of sand. It has just caught her attention:

She tries to stare into the sun - a tactic to try and distract me from the fact that she is now eating the sand - as I am trying to find her eye protection. I don't want a blind child!

Oh right, sand doesn't taste so good.

Right.

Nana visits the PNW

Nana came for a visit!

After breakfast one day, we walked down to the beach, to watch the ferries come in.
Fi was more interested in eating the rocks than collecting -

Nana convinced her to collect instead.

Fi loves her Nana!

Breakfast must be the only time I have a camera.

Here we are, back at our breakfast spot in Edmonds. Look at this great stare, straight at my phone.

And the pensive, "I'm-holding-my-spoon-close-to-my-heart" look.
"Wait, is that food I see, headed my way? Fantastic!"

Ah, I love putting words in her mouth. Cuz real soon, they are going to be coming out of her mouth.....

Time to celebrate!

G has been working on the passage of SSB 6280 in Washington State for several years (!) now. It finally passed, so we celebrated!

G and D were instrumental in passing the bill.

Here is the formal pic with the Governor...

(yes, apparently my daughter is a redhead!)

Fi turns one!

This sweet girl turned one! It's amazing how fast the time goes. She had a lovely party, many friends in attendance. D made her a chair with her name carved in...

She was more interested in her bottle than the cake - we'll see how long she can withstand the lure of sugar!

Congratulations Fi! Happy Birthday!

still going out for breakfast... is there a theme here?

We have captured the babe at our favorite breakfast spot, Dish. Here, I imagine that she is saying, "Um, Papa, that's a plastic sheep. Really? You want me to do what?"

Oh, smile? At the camera? How about at the sheep?

Breakfast time. Yum.

So we're experiencing some technical difficulties, I have been locked out of my photo program on my computer and can't get to all my photos. Send positive technical thoughts to the Pacific Northwest...

January - some eating going on

Fiona is nine months old! Here we went out to breakfast, and she played with her favorite new toy, an empty creamer container. Good times. Our child loves plastic.

Yes, sweetheart, you are awfully cute.
